Hong Kong based airline, Cathay Pacific has announced the resumption of flights between Hong Kong and Colombo beginning 1st February 2024.
After a hiatus of four years, Cathay Pacific is set to restart flights to Sri Lanka with its Airbus A330-343 aircraft. The aircraft is configured in a two-cabin-class layout with 293 seats, comprising 28 in Business class, and 265 in Economy.
Cathay Pacific will operate three non-stop weekly flights to & from Colombo.
Cathay Pacific flight number CX611 departs Hong Kong at 20:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive Colombo at 23:30 on the same day with flight five hours and 55 minutes. The return flight CX610 departs Colombo at 00:45 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrives Hong Kong at 08:40 on the same day with flight time five hours and 25 minutes.
The introduction of Cathay Pacific in the city will enhance Sri Lanka’s direct connectivity with Hong Kong and connect customers to popular destinations such as the USA, Australia, Japan, the Philippines and more.
All flights from or to Colombo can book their tickets on Cathay Pacific’s website or through their agency partners.

China Eastern Airlines to increase flights to Colombo
Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines will be increasing the flights between Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), with the carrier planning to expand its three weekly service between the two cities to daily from 10 September 2023.
The airline already operates direct flights with three weekly service between Shanghai and Colombo with its Airbus A330-243. The airline also operates direct flights with four weekly service between Kunming and Colombo with Boeing B737. However, the additional services to Colombo will be facilitate passengers flying to Sri Lanka.
