Flight path is depends on Weight (pax + cargo), climate, capacity of the aircraft and fuel onboard. The cruising altitude & speed also change according to the route of the flight. By changing these variables they can reduce cost and avoid air traffic as well as give more comfort to the passengers throughout the flight.

Not a stranger to Colombo airport. I've seen Volga-Dnepr Airlines Illushin IL76TD aircrafts landing at Colombo as well as Mattala. But rare!

                  • Ok, seems this is kind of special flight to handle huge air cargo

Volga-Dnepr Group is the world leader in outsize and heavyweight air cargo, now offering a unique 'Cargo Supermarket' service to deliver most effective logistics solutions

today that flight left BIA to some other destination towards Aussie..?

                          Guess where ?

Changi Air Base, with a RC135 and a F50 (converted to carry Harpoon)

                          Scoot 787 Seen in Changi

Scoot 787 Seen in Changi *different pad* - you can see the EK 380 tail in the Cargo area - remote parking.

One of the few remaining 747-400s of SQ - an F Model

Changi - an EK 380, with few SQ birds and the Scoot's classic yellow

Sasco / ST Aero Changi - with their big client - Fedex. Used to see a few MD 11s when they were primarily in Paya Lebar.

                            Villamor Air Base - Manila

A S76 and a Cessna trainer and part of the massive unplanned city of Manila - it's houses stretching for miles and miles and home to almost 15 million of the country's total population of just below 100 million, all cramped at the rate of 12,000 heads per square kilometer ..

Manila - from Left, the Macro Asia Hanger, with an LH 388, and on the right, a couple of Biz Jets, and the new logo of 5J (from Cebu Pacific Air.com - to Cebu Pacific and a new livery), and in the back, Terminal 3 and mostly 5J tails

The regular HK Air / DHL shuttle near T1 Manila, and a PR 330 on the right.

A biz jet and EY 773W gleaming in the baking 40 degree sun

A PR 321 with Sharklets, and as a weight saving measure, no IFE. With J, Premium Economy and Economy classes.

One of the few remaining 320s, without sharklets, and being replaced progressively by the new 321s.

A wide view of NAIA, with a 330-300 in the active, and the T1/Cargo area on the left

PAL 330-300, with the new upgraded Fishbone seats.

PR / PAL territory - Terminal 2 NAIA.

                                A PR 321

A PR 321 after push back

A 5J 330-300, pretty much the metal of choice for 5J, vs PRs 321 which do multiple trips. 5J now flies to Australia, China and Middle East, apart from their previous routes to HK and South East Asia

A CX 330-300, heading to the active

And the most horrible picture of mine, but something that can't be missed- a BAe 146 Quad Jet ! Still operating in this part of the world, for short runways with Jet Power.
