SriLankan has cancelled tomorrow’s flights (26/08) to CJB and VNS
Any reason why ? Both scheduled to be operated on their A321
Hi Aaqib, UL does operate flights to CJB every Tue, Thu, Fri & Sat. So there is no UL flight has been scheduled for Sunday (26-Aug). According to UL website, VNS flight is scheduled for tomorrow.
Rumours state that 4R-ALB was struck by lightning and the aircraft had been in a blackout - meaning that some cabin lights went off and many small problems occured as well in the recent Melbourne delay, but the aircraft landed in Tullamarine Airport safely.
Similarly 4R-MRD or MRE also suffered a heavy lightning strike over india yesterday. The aircraft was checked for damages in the nose, but suspects can be of a crack in the fuselage or the nose maybe aince the lightning strike was very heavy with a loud bang after it striked the aircraft from head to tail.
Qatar Airways now sends their Airbus A350-900 on the morning-arrival QR664 flight to Colombo. Aircraft that fly as QR664 to Colombo will be Airbus A330-300, B777-300, Airbus A340-600 and latest addition Airbus A350.
Qatar Airways now operates twice onboard Airbus A350 to Colombo (As QR662/663 and QR664/665).
This is a good chance for the plane spotters to catch the A350 in Colombo properly, since it arrives at CMB during day time hours rather than the normal operation during the dark.
