CHENNAI: A passengThanjavur man coming from Singapore dies mid-air, body to be kept in Sri Lankaer coming from Singapore died mid-air on Sunday and the body is said to be kept in Sri Lanka.
The 32-year-old passenger from Orthanadu in Thanjavur onboard Air India Express flight (IX 689) from Singapore to Tiruchy developed an illness soon after the flight departed and the crew gave him first aid.
However, as the flight was above the Sri Lankan sky, he fell unconscious and the crew contacted the Colombo airport for landing where he underwent treatment but succumbed.
Subsequently, the body was left behind at Colombo airport and the flight reached Tiruchy at around 4.50 pm after a one-hour delay. Further investigations are on.
I see unknown B737 departed from CMB and flying towards east. Any idea?
I think it is a charter flight? Last week I saw an A319NEO business jet coming in for CMB, departing from singapore, aircraft then was on ground for maybe two or three hours before finally flying towards north-west.
Any possibility CMB re-launch the plane spotter gallery again ? it was closed down 10 years if i am not mistaken.
What do you think CMB preserving the classic airliner B727 (TU-TAB) in front of the ATC tower? if possible they should paint the aircraft in Airlanka livery. My wishful thinking! if you look at LHR, they still have the concorde preserved.

Nice to know CMB started seeing plenty of aircraft visits! just noticed ER-BAS B74F arrived from HKG to CMB. Seems this cargo flight is operating as HKG-CMB-JOH-HKG since few weeks.

Yes, Nice to know that 3K will be operating it's first flight to CMB after four years.. cant wait...
CMB has the potential to be a Cargo and Logistics hub similar to that of BLR. Hopefully 2025 will be a good year for SL tourism and trade
I believe UL1141/2 is a scheduled charter flight of some sorts, otherwise its unlikely for UL to deploy CMB-BOM-HRI-CMB route.
HRI is not being used as a refueling facility is because of the lack of facilities there, unlike CMB, HRI does not have on demand facilities, which is a major reason I believe that most ferry flights go through CMB,or at least that's my viewpoint, please correct me if i'm wrong, thanks.
It seems international aircraft have started using HRI for refuelling? Noticed AN12 from DRW took a stopover at HRI. rego : UR-CNT. Route : DRW-KUL-HRI. Notsure where it's heading. I remember seeing this aircraft at CMB back in 2010.
