yes, it can .. if at MTOW, it needs 3,500 meters though most charters are of bulky/volume nature, and rarely cross 200 tonnes vs max of 250 tonnes (though the picture may be that of an AN 124 - I see only 4 engines, and .. the tail end looks AN 124 style ..)

I saw the 225 land in Clark, and while I was speculating how far down the runway it would go, it easily braked half way through the 3200 meter runway .. possibly and empty arrival

On take off, it lumbered down the runway for a while before wheels-up .. something to do with the engines ..

You should say "largest passenger aircraft" for A380

AN 225 is the world's largest commercial aircraft .. though cargo .. some comparison ..

              • The uniqueness of the AN225 is there is only one aircraft ever built and still operating. It came to Calgary last year and it is very unique beast to see with 6 engines and giant cargo hold.

                    • and only 1 225, because it was sort of a larger build from AN-124.. Antonov Design actually has the leftover of a partially built 225, and never got off beyond that, as they see no use for two 225's .. when 124s are quite sufficient in the commercial cargo sector .. a second 225 may spend more time doing nothing than actually flying ..

AN-225 made with 2 fins to carry Russian Space Shuttle - Buran and it did carry it few times in test flights. It is an amazing and unique aircraft to see. I recommend if you know it is coming to a nearby airport and if you are an aviation geek, this something should not missed.
