There are more Sri Lankan community living around in Heathrow. I doubt they will go upto Gatwick to take the BA flight.Book cheap flights from London Gatwick Airport with British Airways today. Our flights include a generous baggage allowance, award winning service and more.
In the link above if you click BA"s Gatwick destinations, they are all leisure destinations such as Orlando, Las Vegas etc. BA's CMB initiative is purely to tap leisure travelers and doesn't looks like it is ready to cater regular business or diaspora travelers. If they are to start from LHR it will be direct service and will compete with UL (Another Oneworld member - hopefully)
BTW, Banu any update on UL joining "Oneworld" (on track/ behind /still not sure / will be in by .......) !!

On the 14-Apr-2013, EK4906 flight from DXB to HKG was seen on CMB ? Any body know why this flight visited CMB ? Shed some light on this ! Normally Emirates doesn't operate on DXB-CMB-HKG pax route. But they did Freighter ops on DXB-CMB-HKG some time back that now stopped.
