I am also wondering who is the owner of above B737-200? EKO56 could you please confirm? What'a a rego of this bird.
These B737-200s does scream alot when they take off. B737-200 is one of the noisiest aircraft like B727, B767, MD80 etc.. I remember the old days when i do plane spotting in chennai, Alliance Air and Indian Airlines used to fly approx 10 of these B737-200s to destinations like Vizag, Tirupathi, Mangalore etc.. Nice to see this old birdie (B737-200) still flying. She seems to be well maintained.
SQ stopped naming the planes, and the 340-500's were the last to be named, some Chinese belief I think .. now none of the planes have names.
And likewise SQ stopped doing special liveries, post SQ 006, as the SQ006 was a special Economy class promotional livery I recall. Somebody possibly theorised that the special livery caused the bad karma for the plane or something like that, I think ..
ecureilx - I wonder why aircraft of SQ's low cost subsidery Flyscoot still have their nicknames.
Any body know the nicknames of Flyscoot aircraft fleet?
In the past few days 4R-ALM has done CMB-MLE-CMB, CMB-BLR-CMB, CMB-KWI-CMB, apart from its usual far east destinations, BKK, CAN, NRT
SriLankan is sending their new A333s to LHR also on the 16-MAR, 18-MAR, 22-MAR, 24-MAR, 27-MAR, 28-MAR. It's must be because SriLankan is selling more business class on this route, if i am not mistaken?
I will be sharing the picture of UL A333 from LHR very soon.

And the 787s are supposed to progressively retire the 772s ..
From Wiki: (though the timeline is maybe a bit off now .. )
Scoot plans to retire all six of its Boeing 777-200ERs by the middle of 2015 and move to an 'all-Boeing 787' fleet, following the delivery of the first of ten Boeing 787-9s in February 2015 and the first of ten Boeing 787-8s in mid-2015

Yeah I think Scoot already started the process of replacing the B772s. A couple of B772s (9V-OTA & OTF) are not in service for last few weeks as per FR24. Perhaps these two B772s have been replaced by two B787-9s which were joined the fleet in Jan 2015 and 5-Mar 2015. Eighteen more B787-8/9 are to be delivered in the future as Scoot has planned to keep all-dreamliner fleet.
"The economic advantages of this later generation aircraft – including a fuel-burn saving of around 20% per seat – ensure that costs and thus airfares can be kept low so that more people can travel more often" Wilson promised.
Scoot's Boeing 787-9 will be kitted out with 35 'all-leather' premium seats in ScootBiz class, arranged in a 2-3-2 layout.
The bulk of the bird will of course be given over to a sea of 340 economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, for a total head count – or should that be bum count – of 375.
