The flight will be available from July 1, to November 25, 2014 and resume operations on January 13, 2015. Passengers will also get the opportunity to enjoy the relaxing ambience and easy reclining seating on board SriLankan Airlines’ A320 aircraft that will be operated on the route.

SriLankan Airlines to shift MRO, training to Mattala
SriLankan Airlines is planning to shift its maintenance and training activities, along with its leisure connecting traffic, to the island nation’s second international gateway at Mattala.
Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport opened in March 2013 as a leisure gateway, serving southeast Sri Lanka. However, Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport continues to handle the bulk of the country’s international flights.
Speaking to a small group of media in Colombo, SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena said he is planning to shift some of Colombo’s connecting leisure traffic to Mattala to improve the passenger experience and reduce congestion at the old airport.
Depending on take-up, Mattala could be further expanded from its current capacity of 1 million passengers. Sri Lankan Airlines operates 15 flights a week between Colombo and Mattala, which typically proceed to other destinations.
Mattala is currently served by Sri Lankan Airlines, its low-cost subsidiary Mihin Lanka, Fly Dubai and Air Arabia.
Chandrasena also outlined plans to move the airline’s growing maintenance business to the new airport, regardless of whether Sri Lankan Airlines is successful in finding a joint-venture partner for its MRO activities.
He added: “We will also establish a training academy there. Once the infrastructure is completed, we will transfer our [training] activities there. We are looking at the middle of next year.”

Even I visited hri landing and take off scenery is wonderful... But it's quit hard to find a one night accomodation. I mean no choice there is only one, free ice cream is cool scene.. The downtown is deserted they should have more shops and more attraction, when it comes to foreigners they rip off. So sad about the tour guides they charge me hambantota to tissamaharama by a taxi car with car condition return same day usd327 then my friend said they have cheated..I think the airport is deserted and too hot.. More than the airport issue the govt should have proper taxi and should remove all pimps and cheating tour guides... Guys pls report I have done my best to report.. I would love to see Sri Lanka scrap all this pimps and scammers even in Colombo then it's perfect other things can be streamline...I think chennai is much better now no more scammers in airports except some places like petah

Expo Air now Fits Air due to take delivery of their first MD83 freighter (cn 53217) this week. Any latest updates and pictures?
It seems to be they acquired an ATR 72 - 202 from Oman in November 2013. So how many aircraft they have in the fleet?
