Thanks umedha. Any idea why 4R-ALD not in service since 8th September 2014 ? Following links are not showing any recent movements of the aircraft.

I think SriLankan fleet will be in better shape after 3 ageing A343s been replaced by brand new A333s.

In March 2015, SriLankan fleet should have aircraft as below :-

            A320-214# - 4 fleet (ABM, ABN, ABO, ABP : 3 Years old)
            A320-232# - 1 fleet (ABL : 10 Years old)
            A321-200# - 3 fleet (ABQ, ABR, ABS : 7 Years old)
            A330-243# - 4 fleet (ALA, ALB, ALC, ALD : 16 Years old)
            A330-243# - 3 fleet (ALG : 14 Years, ALH : 11 Years, ALJ : 13 Years old)
A330-343E - 3 fleet (ALL, ALM, ALN : Brand new)
            A340-313X - 3 fleet (ADE, ADF, ADG : 14 Years old)

Do you mean 4R-ALD is no longer in SriLankan fleet ? But British Midland was ceased in 2012.

Does that means we have a higher load to BKK?

The capacity increase to A330 is only up to 15 Jan 15. I believe most prob it will go back to A320 after that... the A330 capacity may be to cope with AUS/NZ rush during dec... the AUS/NZ summer rush has meant that after 1 Dec SQ is operating 5 fights a day between SIN -MEL and SIN-SYD 3X a week and 4 flights a day during other times... Significant capacity increase

GDS states that TG operated B777-200/300 to CMB during 2011/12 is did this happen.....As per 24NOV11 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI is extending planned Boeing 777-300 operation on its 4 weekly Bangkok – Colombo service until the end of March 2012.

Previously the Star Alliance member planned to operate -300 until 16JAN12, then switching back to 777-200.

                            Schedule:

                            TG307 BKK2220 – 0015+1CMB 773 x146
                            TG308 CMB0135 – 0630BKK 773 x257

Thai Airways did use a B777-300 to CMB in Nov 2011-March 2012 when they were in the process of retiring their ageing A300-600Rs.

I tracked the below flight status for 2011 period.
                              TG 307 Thai Airways International 10:20 PM 10:23 PM 12:15 AM 12:05 AM Landed On-time 773

Thai Airways doesn't have A320 in the fleet on the other hand Thai Smile going to switch the operations from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok Don Mueang effective October 26. Perhaps they will reduce the frequency with A330-300 in 15/1/15 if the yield not do well on BKK-CMB route.
