Buddy normaly for cabin crew the minimum rest period is 12 hours.. within 12 hours they can operate a flight... Since the flight is about 10 hours the crew will get a layover in CMB. It maybe 12 hours, 24 hours 36 hours or 48 hours.. it varies.. but for the crew they will get a small rest period during flight since it's a long flight.. maybe 13 to 14 crew might be on this flight.. so at once about 5 crew members will rest for abt 3 hours.. then after their rest is over another 5 will go for rest..and when they land in CMB they will get a layover 😊

    • SriLankan bags silver at HRM Awards

SriLankan Airlines once again demonstrated its high level of professionalism in human resource management and development when it won a Silver award in the Open/private sector category at the HRM Awards 2014, held at the Cinnamon Grand, recently.

Organized by the Association of Human Resource Professionals (HRP) the HRM Awards, recognizes and rewards industry best practices in Human Resources, while aiming to provide a platform for public and private sector companies in Sri Lanka to evaluate the effectiveness of their HRM practices against internationally accepted guidelines.

Sharing his thoughts at the ceremony, Pradeepa Kekulawala, the Head of Human Resources of SriLankan Airlines stated, “We are constantly seeking ways to evolve and innovate to implement the best HR practices within the organization. Whilst taking pride from our achievement, we need to invest ourselves in formulating the best HRM Practices which we could adopt and practice and surpass industry benchmarks to become a trend setter in the field of HR management.”

SriLankan Airlines was amongst an elite set of companies from the corporate sector who shared the spotlight at the event as the ceremony recognised the best HR Management practitioners in the island. The leading companies of the island were audited and appraised by an independent panel of judges that comprised of prominent local and international HR professionals. The ceremony was graced by leading HR Professionals in the corporate sector with Arjuna Ranatunga, the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation as the Chief Guest.

SriLankan Airlines’ Human Resources Department won a Silver award in the Government-Owned Business category in 2012 edition of the HRM awards. The Airline was also awarded the prestigious ‘Best HR Strategy in line with Business Strategy’ award at the fifth edition of Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards, held at Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Square in Singapore, last year.

                        • SriLankan only airline in the world without a single aircraft

SriLankan Airlines may be the only airline in the world, which does not own a single plane, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said.

He said so while accepting the committee report on SriLankan Airlines yesterday. The committee was appointed by Former Civil Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranatunga to look into the frauds and corruption of the airlines, which has become a huge burden on the country’s economy. Accordingly, a four-member committee headed by J. C. Weliamuna has prepared the report within six weeks. The other members of the committee are Uditha Palihakkara, M. K. Bandara and B. A. W. Abeywardena. Addressing media the Prime Minister said that SriLankan Airlines owns only a few vehicles including some buses and lorries.

He added that newly appointed Civil Aviation Minister Reginold Cooray will bring it up in parliament next week after analyzing the report.

I doubt any technical issue on 4R-ADA. Because most of the other flights to Riyadh also have been delayed yesterday and today, not sure why? Please check this link : http://www.riyadh-airport.com/arrivals.php . UL266 delayed until 17:10 today arrival at Colombo.
