Perfect time to deploy A330-300 for the daily service….
We know that already and it's obvious. The post was about other airlines involvement in this sector.
What I am trying to mean is that as an effect of the crisis Rates would sky rocket in the CMB-DOH sector if only airlines like UL start serving this route.

    • SriLankan's first A321neo (D-AVYO/4R-ANC/MSN7663) has completed its third acceptance flight at Hamburg - today. The aircraft was on the air for only 0.35mts. Most probably the next stage is re-registration, delivery and ferry flight to Colombo.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Haleef - Do you know when 4R-ANC is coming to Colombo? Where will it do the tech-stop on its XFW-CMB flight?

Will come during this month. No proper date. Tech stop will usually be Dubai, DXB.

            News : http://www.lankabusinessonline.com/s...h-gulf-region/

Good move !! UL is going expand more flights to Gulf. I would suggest operating double daily flights to all current destinations in Gulf. It will be better if UL re-open Frankfurt and Paris flights immediately since ME3 are struggling these days. Also UL better drop the plan of subleasing 4 A333s to another airline and use all the fleet for expansions.

                Thanks.

SriLankan is planning to fly Ahmedabad from Winter 2018. Do you think this route will be profitable for SriLankan?

I can see from Fr24, 4R-ALN is back in service but 4R-ALA & 4R-ALC are not flying since yesterday.

Any idea why today UL1422 is by A332 4R-ALA to CGK?
As their regular service to CGK is UL364 today operated by A320 4R-ABN

4R-ALA must be going for maintenance checks at CGK. Must be dropping off pax at CGK and sending them on 365 to Colombo maybe.

                        • Hi Rahal,

Today - 4R-ALA has gone to Jakarta as UL1422. 4R-ALC is out of service since yesterday. Are they going through the end of lease checks?

                          Thanks

Possibly true if this article is accurate!

...SriLankan management will then have to decide how to use its three A330-300s which are a legacy from the Rajapaksa era. They each cost more than US$1 million a month. Curiously, the airline might return some leased A330-200s to the lessors in mid-2017, authoritative sources said. This means they must either ground their A330-330 long-haul craft or fly them unprofitably on short-distance routes which are mostly what SriLankan is now limited to.

                                Good shot !

What's that grey line under the door at the front of the fuselage ?
Why its doing many tests flights ? 4R-ANC has already done the test flights on the 29th May, 2nd June, 6th June, 8th June and 9th June. Any issues with the aircraft ?
