    Based on the comments above, maybe Qatar is looking to purchase Mihin's old AOC licence rather than help UL. Would make much more sense IMHO and they could even use it to deploy the A320s that were due to go to Al Maha.
    Perhaps Qatar is fully aware of how 'Business' is done in Sri Lanka and will do the smart thing and stay well clear.
    Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this business

          Why 30 weekly fro Chennai and 26 weekly for Male and 21 weekly for Bangkok and Singapore?
          Why can't it be reduced to 2 daily flights using A350s?(if SL had some)

                      Just more Sri Lanka "Big Talk" imho.

                      This has been tried how many times already? Last time Akbar came and basically laughed in their faces.

                      There is no way to make any of this profitable - makes no difference what they do or who is in charge. The 12 year leases at above market rates with no termination clause have seen to that.

                      I can sense the desperation from 4500 miles away!

                        If Mihin Lanka restarts with funding, I'm sure itwill have an adverse effect on Sri Lankan airlines as the market share gets divided.

                          You guys agree???

                          according to writer UL decision to fly MEL is not wise...do you agree? he is very much worried on how to fill flight seats daily (?)... he says not all lankan will fly daily.. non-sri lankans also would not use UL flight...bla bla...

                          If this is correct.. then
                          HOW UL can fly LONDON twice??? Hilarious hahh..
                          I think these pandithayos should keep thier mouth shut...

                              Do you know the load factor in CMB-MEL flights? I thing it is like 60%-70% as for the above article. I think Sri Lankan should fly 4-5 times a week to MEL.

                                The article makes sense - there is no market for daily flights.

                                This is going to be a massive money loser (could easily be $100,00 flight) - especially with the expensive leases of the A333.

                                People still seem to be making the following assumptions:-

                                -UL is run like a Business.
                                -People at UL know what they are doing.

                                Both assumptions are incorrect.

                                The only thing that's 100% certain is more massive losses for the taxpayers
                                Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find this business
