While the 777 is a fantastic plane, whichever way you look at, it is the 77W which is the variant that gets all the praise. Unless UL goes for the 77W they would be better off sticking with Airbus and looking at replacing the A343s with A333s.
As far as I know, there are no 77Ws lying around at the moment, so unless 'talking to Boeing' is used as a tactic to obtain discounts for A333s I do not think it really is a feasible (or a sane) idea to introduce a few 777s, for the sake of getting rid of the A343s.
Also, do not forget that all credible 777 operators such as Emirates and Singapore are also getting rid of their non-77W variants either replacing them with 77Ws of A333s.
