From their website, it looks probable that they'd operate on Bombardier Q300/Q400 aircraft.
    They've also begun recruiting
Good news! It would be great if they survive for long. Any idea how many aircraft are going to fly under these airlines?

A factual and balanced summary of the companies performance over the past three years by the former CEO.
Has Suren been reading my posts?

I agree it is a well written analysis of the state of SriLankan - I agree with his conclusions as well.

Where I have issues with Suren is that despite knowing the state of the Airline he was quite happy to accept a post he was obviously not even remotely qualified to hold.

After accepting this post he was quite happy to pocket a huge salary and benefits. In addition he was able to force the opening of a route to Melbourne. Where does he live? What a coincidence!

He was also supposed to get a bonus and he requested a nice severance package for himself - never did hear what he received - my bet would be all of it!

I also notice he took no action against any of the people accused of wrongdoing. No action of any kind taken against the Racketeers such as those exposed by the Colombo Telegraph. He also denied facts as "fake news". His interview on Bloomberg was just laughable (can be seen on YouTube).

He fails to mention any of this in his article. Suren portrays himself as part of the solution when in reality he was part of the problem.

As much as i hate UL's overall product, they certainly are much better than the above airlines without a doubt

Both the MRC & MRF were returned back to the lessor in 2017.

I thought that it was only MRF that was returned back

                • Guys, any idea what happened to Colombo - Bangkok route ? I can notice Thai Airways is reducing the frequency of flights from 7 to 5 weekly and SriLankan Airlines already reduced the frequency of flights from 21 to 17 weekly.

Yes they’ve stoppped domestic flights to encourage private airlines to take to the skies
We now have new airlines such as Air Sakurai, F-air and FlySouthern who are currently operating domestic flights with FlyCeylon and Serendib Airlines to begin soon

Flying to BKK via KUL or SIN is very much cheaper these days with many Pax nowadays flying either AirAsia to DMK or Malaysia/Malindo/ Singapore airlines to get to the east
I doubt that there is much demand for Pax on TG.
Probably why they’ve cut down flights. The same applies to UL since their fares to BKK are on the expensive side

                          • More tales from Pandora's Box...

Sri Lanka's private credit grew 88.9 billion rupees in September 2024, on top of 135.1 billion rupees in August, while credit to government declined, official data showed.

                            "..alleged involvement.." Right!

Good to finally see Druvi's name in print - he's got plenty to answer for!

Still nothing about the biggest Racketeering operation in the company:- The purchase and sale/leaseback of U$2.3 Billion worth of aircraft and the purchase of 4 A350 for just under U$1 Billion.

                            And more Fairy Tales...

The total debt is closer to U$3 Billion if you include the 4 A350 that still have to be paid for and the costs of the above market rate aircraft leases.

Delusional thinking at it's finest imho.
