Sri Lankan rolled out its first A330 upgraded with flatbeds, a new inflight entertainment system and an interior décor scheme reflecting a Sri Lanka theme on Thursday.
Over the next six months the airline will upgrade most of its A330s and some A340s with flatbeds, head of commercial GT Jayaseelan said.
Two or three older A340s are likely to be replaced, perhaps with Boeing 777s.

Sri Lankan Airlines plans to cash in on tourism boom
Sri Lanka's national carrier SriLankan Airlines is expanding its domestic flights and plans to purchase a plane to meet rising demand, an official said here on Friday.
SriLankan Air Taxi service is now running a network connecting 17 local destinations to its network, SriLankan Airlines Product Development and Air Taxi Manager Sanjeeva Jayatileke told media.
"Currently operation is carried out by two De Havilland Twin Otter aircraft that the company acquired from Kenn Borek Air Limited Canada on a two year wet lease. We hope to purchase another Twin Otter aircraft by the end of next year and train local staff to take over all operations," Jayatileke said.

Sri Lankans still subject to stringent visa rules, and are classified with Nigeria, Pakistan and Yemen, to quote a few ..
wonder where they will get the load factors .. unless they still dream of "ONWARDS" travel to ME/Europe, where there are better deals from Middle-Eastern carriers ..
