You can have the best of talents to head an airline but if there are political agenda and politicians involve, nothing good can happen. You want proof? Look at Malaysia Airlines as against Singapore Airlines. Both springs from the same company. One grew up to be a world giant and the other one after 40 years is still pathetic.

            • LOT Polish Airline Dreamliner grounded in Sri Lanka

Sun, Nov 24, 2019, 10:51 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
Nov 24, Colombo: Polish national air carrier LOT Airlines Dreamliner was grounded at Sri Lanka's Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo due to a malfunction, the airline has said.

Just before taking off from Colombo to Warsaw, the on-board computer of the Polish national air carrier LOT Dreamliner notified the cabin crew about a malfunction of the aircraft's poppet valve, which hampered its journey, LOT spokesperson Michał Czernicki said.

"A decision was made to check the craft," said Mr Czernicki, adding that 232 passengers and 15 crew members of the Warsaw-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight number LO70 were taken into the care of a local representative of LOT and that they would be put up in a hotel.

The LOT spokesperson said that all of its aircrafts, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner currently grounded in Colombo, were fitted with an extended system of sensors that constantly diagnose their operations.

"Thanks to the experience of our crews, technical and operational support, every divergence from the norms set by the aircraft producer is immediately identified and verified because safety is LOT's top priority," said Mr Czernicki, adding that it is possible an element of the valve would have to be replaced.

The passengers will be brought back to Poland on Sunday, LOT reported.

                              • One last picture of 4R-ALD where she returned back to base the first time after leaving Colombo where it found a vibration in one of its engine. It was fixed, and the aircraft was sent to DGX, St. Athan in Wales as UL 1205.
