And there she goes. She will continue to Woensdrecht Air Base (WOE) in Netherlands after the stop in Doha.

    • Hi Chris (Skyliner), As per post above, SriLankan Airlines A321 , 4R-ABR has left Colombo Airport just now. Do you know who is the new customer for 4R-ABR ? when it's going to be painted new livery?

According to Planespotters, net, 4R-ABR is going to Spanish Airline "Privilege Style" this month and to be registered as EC-NLJ. I am wondering if it has been painted in Privilage Style Airline livery in Colombo?

Most probably 4R-ABR will be painted like this. Privilage Style is replacing B757 with A321 fleet. Good new home for 4R-ABR.

Azamh - Yes 4R-ABR is ex-QR aircraft. Did you fly on SriLankan A321 before ? how was the cabin on the aircraft?
These old A321 seating configuration is much comfortable and spacious than the new A321neo of Sri Lankan, it’s so cramped

I thought the leases of ALA, ALB, ALC, ALH were extended by Suren few years ago.

ALJ already left the SriLankan Airlines fleet but lessor has parked the aircraft in CMB in the meantime, i heard.

May be leases hasn't come to the expiry date yet? Is ABQ going to leave UL fleet next and join Privilage Style Airlines as the airline is looking for another A321 after adding ABR in their fleet.

Yes I read in earlier article ALA, ALB, ALC leases were extended by 6 years in 2017.

The airline is saddled with three unwanted ancient Airbus A330-200 wide-bodied aircraft due an erroneous, arbitrary and unilateral extension of lease agreements by the CEO. Total lease cost for three aircraft six-year lease period amounts to USD 54.54 million. This transaction will "weaken the balance sheet" annually whilst the culprit, recruited for a princely salary of Rs 3 million plus perks, is not disciplined. To be fair, a majority of directors objected to CEO’s decision. They were overruled by a cabinet sub-committee. As a result, this costly mistake was not discussed during the meeting between Board members and CEO with the President, Prime Minister and cabinet of ministers last Tuesday.

looks like ALH & MRE was part of the a350 cancellation deal and ALH (MSN 627) may have been extended by up to 10 years

                            • SriLankan Airlines to get US$150mn cash injection in 2020: PM

ECONOMYEXT – State-run SriLankan Airlines would get a 150 million dollar cash injection in 2020 which would be part of a 500 million dollar to be injected in the medium term, Prime Minister and Finance Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

SriLankan has been badly hit by a Coronavirus crises but it is running relief flights, cargo flights to make money.

SriLankan had been making losses ever since its managing shareholder Emirate Airlines was removed and the privatization reversed in 2008.

However Prime Minister Rajapaksa blamed the last administration for not injecting cash to the airline.

“Due to the suspension in 2015 of the 2013 commenced programme to strengthen the SLA by infusing capital of USD 500 million over 5 years, and the subsequent efforts to privatize the SLA, has made it financially weak,” he said in parliament.

The government has presented an Appropriation Bill to gain approval for spending made before the new parliament was elected and to get approval for expenses for the rest of the year. (Colombo/Nov12/2020)
