According to Air Service Agreement 2020, only Max 11 Total flights are allowed to operate between Australia and Sri Lanka. UL is currently flying 7 weekly to MEL and 3 weekly to SYD. From Jan23, UL is adding 1 frequency to SYD to make it 4 weekly. I believe Sri Lanka has to increase the regulated capacity with Australia to increase more flights over there.

For these cities 14 flights in total are allowed, with a maximum of 7 per city. So it seems a 7/weekly to Sydney is possible.
