Maybe they'll go the same way as the four ex-Turkish A343s that were stored at Johannesburg in 2019 then came to life in late 2022 as XT-AKA/B/K/ALM, departed for Uzbekistan but diverted to Tehran.
In order to close this one off, the three A340s filed flight plans from EYSA to Clark in the Philippines on 29-Feb-24. C5-MIB I assume went tech as it followed on 7-Mar-24. Over Iran they diverted for an unspecified reason and thus never reached Clark, assume they'll appear as EP- soon!

After a four-year hiatus, Thai Airways made a triumphant return with its inaugural flight TG 307 landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at 11:55 p.m. on Sunday.

The resumption of this flight route marks a significant milestone in the revitalisation of tourism between Thailand and Sri Lanka. Originating from Bangkok, Thailand, the flight carried around 150 foreign tourists, including Thai nationals eager to explore the beauty and culture of Sri Lanka.

He expressed confidence that the resumption of daily flights by Thai Airways would serve as a catalyst for further increasing tourist arrivals.

                    • Srilankan Airlines is set to lease four new aircraft ahead of the privatisation of the loss-making national carrier, an official said on Tuesday. The Cabinet on Monday approved the leasing of four Airbus planes to allow Sri Lankan airlines to maintain its route network without disruption, Cabinet spokesman Bandula Gunawardena told reporters here.

The airline is among the loss-making state-owned enterprises that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asked the cash-strapped island nation to privatise to maintain and implement key economic reforms needed for recovery.

ch-aviation fleets data shows that the Air Belgium A330s are at SriLankan until January and May 2026, respectively, while two of the dry leased A330-300s are due back to their lessors in 2026 and the remaining five during 2027. SriLankan CEO Richard Nuttall has previously spoken of the looming end-lease dates and the pressure that has put on the airline to acquire replacements.
