SriLankan Airlines hopes to grow its current fleet of 21 to 22 next month, with plans to obtain another three aircraft within the next three months, the CEO said.
The destinations to be covered by the airline would remain the same for the time-being, Nuttall said. However, the frequency of flights to destinations already covered by SriLankan airlines is expected to increase, he said.
“Most of the expansion that we’ll get from that will not be new cities, but it will be increasing frequencies to existing destinations, particularly India and Southeast Asia,” he said. (ANI)

Chongqing Airlines today resumed direct nonstop flights from Chongqing, China to Colombo, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) said.
The flight was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The inaugural flight from Chongqing to Colombo, OQ2393 arrived at 2:50 p.m. with 78 passengers.
The passengers were warmly welcomed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and they were presented with gift packs of tea sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tea Board.
Three weekly flights will be operated between Chongqing and Colombo while Acorn Aviation (Private) Limited is the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Chongqing Airlines in Sri Lanka.
The recommencement of Chongqing Airlines operations in Sri Lanka will help boost tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka and strengthen economic cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, finance, education and culture between China and Sri Lanka, said AASL.
