Eerily very similar to UL; a once iconic brand bought down by government interference, mismanagement and bloated staff. We already had a round of this by shutting down Air Ceylon and starting UL; the default behavior in South Asia seems to be shut down and start a new entity for plundering when the debt gets out of hand

Biman to Launch Colombo flights
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has a plan to reintroduce Biman’s flight operation on New Delhi and Hong Kong routes along with opening new routes this year.
Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon disclosed this, while replying to a question from a treasury bench member MA Awal in the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday.
“We have a plan to expand Biman’s new international destinations including Guangzhou of China, Colombo of Sri Lanka and Male of Maldives side by side with reopening New Delhi and Hong Kong routes in 2016,” he said. The minister also informed the House that the national flag carrier is currently providing service to seven domestic and 15 international flights.

Actual fare is about 300 NUC - about 40,000 SLR.
And promo fares of course go cheaper.
Where did you get those fares ?
And SQ has their 50th anniversary promo fares going even cheaper than LCC fares in some sectors.

“We don’t intend to go back down that road (either by investing in or managing other airlines).”- Matt Raos, vice president corporate sales at Emirates
EMIRATES has stated that it is no longer interested in investing or managing another airline again, citing an unsuccessful partnership with SriLankan Airlines that concluded in 2008.

Thank you for your updates. I am sure you are aware about the on-going debate as to weather UL is actually getting these A350's or not. No one seems to know what it going on. Is there any way for you to confirm 100% that this order has NOT been cancelled ?
UL will probably have to take the first three because they are leased from AerCap and because three of their A330-200s are to be returned to the lessor as soon as 2017
Regarding the others on order, we cannot confirm that these aircraft on order won't be cancelled.
Kind regards,
Philipp and Lucas
