as for A7-APC,(SYD-CMB-DOH) maybe it's that CMB is between Australia and Qatar that made it land at CMB first and then go to DOH.(or that (I don't know if this is true) CMB's parking charges are lower than other A/Ps)

If MRE was lsd for 10 years lease(from AerCap), It would be returned in May I guess ("leased from AerCap May 2014" says planespotters)

good signs for ALH though. any idea when it will be in the skies again?(after a month of 'grounding')

        Hi ,
Little correction on your statement on A7-APC, This particular A380 was supposed to fly from DOH-SYD, but due to lightning strike or bad weather (Please correct if i am wrong), Aircraft Landed at BNE, then the crew was changed as per the regulations and return crew operated the BNE-SYD flight and then SYD to DOH, but that crew has operational time limitations, bcz of that Crew was needed to be changed at CMB and Third crew operated the CMB - DOH flight. Correct me if I am wrong!

Nice to see 8D is planning below routes as per your chart

            7 weekly - MLE
            7 weekly - MAA
            3 weekly - DAC
9 weekly - DXB (good idea 8D823 to planned with 07:05am CMB departure. also see 8D827 with 16:55 CMB depature)

also 3 weekly TRV planned as per recent updates

Any update 8D's new routes : CCJ, DOH & SHJ? Looking forward to get more update on 8D!

            Hi Banu,
            Thanks! I have recovered!

Usually I do not post time table if its not confirmed ,, TRV is planned! CCJ, DOH, SHJ is not going to happen within these year or Within Jan 2025. Will keep you posted when Got info!

Yes 9 weekly to DXB, those timings are not actually as planned, 8D827 was supposed to be 8D823 morning flight, but because of slot availability and bargaining power of other strong airlines, 8D could not secure the morning slot at DXB as 8D823.

For your question on DAC flight number, if the flight timing is changing due to various factors, (may be because of decisions by commercial, Season, or Connecting flights, agreements with other airlines ) flight number should be changed accordingly, (Simply, if the slot changes, flight number should be changed)

Hi, I think they will be getting A320Ceos, A320Neos are very hard to get these days, so they will be using A320Ceos for now since they are cheaper to maintain compared to the Neos, and also, I will let you know if plans change and if they decide to go with A320Neos instead..

                Thank you!
any details on registration/msn of upcoming two A320s are going to join Air Ceilao fleet?

Air Ceilao needs to acquire one more A320 aircraft so in case one plane is down then do not disturb schedule.

Currently only one train between Colombo and Jaffna. Need desperate help from airlines to start colombo-jaffna domestic flight.

Maybe a regional service with (say) ATRs? But I'm not sure if many would will to go by Air to jaffna and thus the feasibility is kind of questionable.

I feel like they would benefit with A319s and A220s, it seems more feasible on my opinion, only thing that needs to happen is an insane price reduction on these routes. I feel like there would be alot of demand on the CMB-JAF sector.

in the case of the new airline, I think the A319 is somewhat better because it has a common cockpit(and type rating) to the A320(which they're going to operate) and the a220 is another type.
prices definitely need to be comparable to that of the already existing mode(trains) of going to Jaffna
would it be better to do CMB-JAF or RML-JAF?

Thanks for sharing! Do you have more info on this? I heard that JAF runway will be expanded to accommodate A320s and B737s, is this true per this plan?
                            Thanks.

                              • ECONOMYNEXT – Air Ceilao, a new private aircraft operator, has sought approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, to operate domestic and international charter flights to transport passengers and cargo, an official document showed. The CAASL in a public notice said Air Ceilao, a new operator, has sought “an Air Operator Certificate and Airline Licence to engage in domestic charter and regular transport operations and international charter and regular transport operations carrying passengers, cargo, and mail in compliance with Civil Aviation Act..” The CAASL said it would proceed with the certification process of the application after January 8, 2025 to examine the degree of Air Ceilao’s compliance with the applicable legislative provisions. Sri Lanka has seen a sudden demand for domestic charter flights with a sharp increase in tourist arrival. The number of passenger movement fell to 5,406 in 2021 from its peak of 30.725 in 2018 when the island nation saw its record tourist arrivals and earnings. However, the number has improved to 11,955 last year, the CAASL data showed.

In its website, Air Ceilao claimed that it was founded by a group of passionate aviation enthusiasts and experienced industry professionals and it was built on the principles of innovation, inclusivity, sustainability, and unparalleled customer experience.
