as said previously by Haleef, there's news that 4R-ALT(MSN1060) is dropped due to structural issues
MSN1261(A330-243) might take up 4R-ALT eventually, which is currently stored at CHR for pre-delivery work.

apparently it's in UL livery, because the last time it was with "Fly gangwon" that didn't sport a flag near the cockpit window(which this has)
great spotting by you banuthev as well!

Edit-> the text painted also resembles that of UL a/c.

Heard plans are underway to begin flights to CMB and to MLE onboard their A333 or B789, not sure of the time frame. Will update.

Qantas One-Time A330-300 Colombo Service in Feb 2026

The Pioneering Spirit of the Kangaroo Route
Sydney Darwin Singapore Kolkata Colombo Cairo Rome Toulouse London
    By Qantas A330-300 - 3 Feb 2026

We recreate the historic Kangaroo Route aboard our privately chartered Qantas Airbus A330-300. Following an almost identical flight path as the one Qantas first wholly operated in 1947, ours is a journey born of nostalgia, yet one enhanced by the conveniences of the modern era. Celebrate this milestone event, as we hop our way from Sydney to London, stopping in seven awe-inspiring cities along the way.

MAA-CMB sector currently served by 3 Daily x UL, 3 Daily x 6E, 1 Daily x AI, 3 weekly 8D. Remember AI reduced MAA-CMB flights from 11 weekly to 7 weekly in the past. I feel this sector have lost considerable transit pax and strongly depend only on O&D traffic if i am not mistaken.

ASA say maximum 14 weekly flights can be operated between CMB & RUH/JED. DMM on OpenSkies. UL is currently flying 7 weekly to RUH and 3 weekly given for 8D to operate RUH and 4 weekly saved for UL's upcoming JED flights. I believe Sri Lanka better update the ASA to increase more flights with Saudi Arabia.

will this be designated 4R-ALT or -ALU/V?
MSN 1261 is going to be leased from lessor AerCap. Anybody know the period of lease? and the date when air-test planned?

Seems like SL is not really a priority for KE. But there was a rumor going around that KE is actually interested to start flights to CMB and MLE during W25.

When I was in Korea for work, I asked my Korean colleagues whether they preferred to visit Thailand or Sri lanka, most people said that they would prefer Thailand because of the increasing connectivity options, they said they didn't fancy taking multiple connecting flights to a destination when they easy access Thailand. Most of them said they travel to SL only to connect towards to the Maldives, quite a shame actually. Out of 10 people I asked who were good friends of mine (They travel frequently), only two of them have visited SL, others said they visited Thailand and the Maldives.

I actually travel on KE annually, on their 747s and 777s. I use ICN as a transit point before connecting onwards to ATL and LAX. KE is actually a very good alternative compared to AI or EK.
Can see KE listing CMB as its destination on its website. Is KE planning to fly CMB anytime soon?

Any reason why MAA flights cancelled? Any chance RUH happening in S25?

Got an update MSN 1060 parked at LPBJ and so that means may be MSN 1060 is going to be stored at LPBJ until it find a new taker.

Have the lessor forward the materials to Naples for MSN 1037? will MSN 1037 join UL in UL-colors?
    No info on MSN 1037

UL is currently on the look out for B737, ATR, A330 and A350 aircraft.
well, UL needs to train their crews if they're going to operate boeing as well..
could do something like 6E does by first leasing some from another carrier.(they leased B77Ws and B38Ms)
    ATR for CMB-JAF/HRI?

    And some other news also,

"The national carrier also has demanded the cancellation of the A350-900 Purchase Agreement for four A350-900 aircraft, seeking the return of the $19 million advance payment made for those aircraft." looks like UL isn't going to get A359s for a while after all..
