After all, FY is NOT cheap, even though they started off as a LCC concept .. when they realised that people are willing to pay for the convenience of landing in SZB vs KUL.
The fact is, most of the routes don't justify a 320 or a 737 .. so an ATR fits just nice ..

This is a first time I see this type of aircraft washer (latest may be)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...59947113_n.jpg. Did TG managed to find the suitable route for their A380 ? I think TG was using A380 on the BKK-HKG and BKK-SIN for a few months ago, but not sure if that is still continuing.

CAA of Iraq said Iraqi Airways is going to expand the services into India, Far East and Europe. It seems they ordered for B787s too. Though they have to pay Kuwait $500 Million to End Air Dispute.
Has anyone know more about the Iraqi Airways current fleet ? Any idea how is the political situation in Iran and Iraq. It seems Aviation in Iran has gone very quite recently.

The national airline carriers for Kuwait and Iraq signed a final agreement, in which Kuwait is to drop all lawsuits against Iraqi Airways in return for $500 million in financial compensation, Kuwait's Al-Qabas reported Thursday (December 20th).
The agreement was signed by the chairman of Kuwaiti Airways, Sami al-Nesf, and the Iraqi Minister of Transport's advisor for aviation affairs, Kifah Hassan Jabbar.
Following the signing ceremony, al-Nesf said the agreement was signed on orders from Kuwait's emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
He said the Iraqi government has agreed to pay financial compensation by mid-January, at which point Kuwait will withdraw the lawsuit from court.
According to al-Nesf, the agreement marks a historical turning point in relations between the two countries, as it reflects a real desire on the part of the political leadership in both countries to turn the page on the past.

Jetsgo was a Canadian airline ceased operations in 2005.
In early-2006, IATA decided not to issue any more codes with "0" in them (either leading or trailing) and to assist existing operators to transition to new codes if they wanted. JetsGo had ceased operations in 2005 and even though their "SG" code was within the 2 year window for "recycling", an exception was made and it was re-allocated to Spicejet. It was the only code transition at the time that was entirely paid for by IATA, as it was the only active code with a leading "0". A few codes with trailing "0"s are still active, but no new ones are being issued.

Amazing to see the golden historic memories of Iraqi Air-network from this link http://airlineroute.net/2011/02/01/w85-ia/. Hope they re-launch as a leading airline in middle east.

But,well, Twotters are Not pressurised, and they are not subject to the stresses and such with limit their air-time !!!!
Technically speaking, as long as their are stripped off and inspected properly, they could fly longer and longer
Sometime ago, there was a tender out for replacing the old Twotteres with newer Viking Twotters or Do 228, not sure what came out of it ..
I think TG was using A380 on the BKK-HKG and BKK-SIN for a few months ago, but not sure if that is still continuing.
Until recently, SQ was also doing SIN-CGK with their A 345s, for same reason .. until they got the A333s, primarily for flight deck crew training ..Last edited by ecureilx; 24-12-2012, 02:17 AM.

They flew to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Malmo and London back in 2010, but they were forced to stop flying to Europe because the aircraft used was impounded. Now the lawsuit against IA has been dropped, they can fly to Europe again and buy new planes.
The web site isn't accurate, don't pay attention to it.
That was a proposal, but not used again eventhough they have kept it ever since. The latest CRJ-900 has the green livery.
As for the Vienna-Baghdad route, yes Austrian Airlines does fly to Baghdad.

SIA News ..
Singapore Airlines will spend close to $95 million to retrofit 10 of its older Boeing planes with new long-haul cabin products.
This will give customers more space and comfort, SIA said on Friday.
The upgrade will also provide greater product consistency across the airline's long-haul fleet, with business class seats that convert into full-flat beds and larger in-flight entertainment screens in both business and economy classes.
The first improved Boeing B777-200ER aircraft will operate between Singapore and Amsterdam from next month.
