    • Peter R Foster visited the Sri Lankan Air Force and discovered the impact that the Ukrainian War was having on the ability to keep aircraft flying.


      According to the article above, a majority of SLAF's Russian/Ukrainian sourced aircraft are non-operational, including all the AN-32s and many of the Mil MI-17s.

          All overhauled AN32Bs are available for emergency flying, but waiting for next inspection by Ukranian Antonov engineers.

            • Wariyapola, March 21 (Daily Mirror) - A Chinese K-8 trainer jet of the Sri Lanka Air Force crash-landed in Wariyapola a short while ago, the Sri Lanka Air Force reported.

              It is reported that the aircraft, which had taken off from the China Bay Air Force Base in Trincomalee, lost radar contact before the crash.

              They said that the pilot and co-pilot ejected from the aircraft before the crash.​

                  A SLAF K-8 jet trainer crashed in Wariyapola during a training flight after it encountered an emergency. Both pilots ejected from the aircraft.

                  keep an eye on this if it updates(that is)​
